Harwich Local Planning Committee Sets February 24 Hearing Date for Comprehensive Plan

HARWICH — February 3, 2026 — Harwich Local Planning Committee confirms February 24 Planning Board hearing for its Local Comprehensive Plan. The committee met February 3 and finalized logistics for the next major step toward town meeting adoption, with a public hearing before the Planning Board set for Tuesday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m. Staff coordinator Christine reported she had filed the warrant article the previous day and placed a legal advertisement for the hearing. The committee's chair said she would be unavailable that evening and discussed asking Vice Chair Garrett to present in person, describing the hearing as likely a formality given the Planning Board's prior familiarity with the plan. The LCP, which incorporates a Housing Production Plan approved by the state in April 2025 and an Open Space and Recreation Plan granted conditional state approval in July 2025, is expected to come before annual town meeting on the first Monday in May.
