Zoning Board · Meeting of August 26, 2026

HARWICH — The Harwich Zoning Board of Appeals approved a special permit 4-1 for a rebuilt cape-style home at 31 Lincoln Village Road, over objections from neighbors in the small subdivision's inner island. Attorneys William Crowell and Michael Donovan represented owners Terrence and Michelle Driscoll, telling the board the revised design dropped the ridge height from 27 feet to 24 feet and moved the front setback back several feet after the case was continued from a July 29 hearing. Abutter Jill Jackson told the board the plan "raises the roofline by over 80 percent from the existing dwelling," while board member Kenneth Dixon said he felt "compelled to follow the strict adherence to Gale" in finding no detriment to the entire neighborhood.

The board attached conditions including a construction moratorium between June 30 and Labor Day.
