Harwich Select Board grants liquor license to new Harwich Port restaurant, dissolves planning body

HARWICH — May 11, 2026 — Harwich Select Board approves liquor license for new Harwich Port restaurant and dissolves its Local Planning Committee. The board voted unanimously Monday to grant a seasonal on-premises all-alcoholic beverages license to Three Harbors Coastal Kitchen LLC at 575 Route 28, a new farm-to-table venture from the Yachek family, who also own Milano's. Attorney Matthew Kelly described the 100-seat restaurant — with roughly 23 outdoor patio seats and more than 60 on-site parking spaces — as "appropriately zoned" and the family as proven operators; owner Frank Yachek said he is targeting a Fourth of July opening. In a separate unanimous vote, the board dissolved the Local Planning Committee after approximately three years of work producing the town's Local Comprehensive Plan, with Chair Don Howell calling it "a road map" and urging LPC members to join the Conservation Commission, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals. Water and Wastewater Superintendent Jason Trepanio announced the Route 28 water main project from South Street to the Heron River Bridge will go out to bid this month, with construction beginning mid-September, and that the department received the state DEP's Medium-Large Community Compliance Award for 2025.
